Built by people who grew up on job sites.

The Problem Was Personal

This started with a conversation at a family dinner. One of our founders' father is a licensed electrician—forty years in the trade, can walk a job site and price it in his head within 5% of actual cost. Respected. Skilled. Booked months out. But he was losing bids.

Not because his pricing was wrong or his work wasn't excellent. Because by the time he got home, ate dinner, and sat down to build the estimate in Excel, three days had passed. The client had already hired someone else. The fastest estimate won. Not the best contractor.

That conversation led to a question: Why doesn't technology that can recognize our voices and process information instantly work for the people who built the physical world we live in?

The Research Phase

We spent six months talking to contractors across every trade—electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, painters, general contractors, carpenters. From solo operators to crews of 20. From Arizona to Maine.

The pattern was consistent: they could price work in their heads, but couldn't find time to document it properly. The existing software was built by people who'd never held tools. They were choosing between professional estimates and fast follow-up. No one should have to make that choice.

The Build

We built Krue with a simple premise: what if technology adapted to how contractors actually work, instead of forcing contractors to adapt to how software works? Voice-first, because your hands are often full or dirty. AI-powered, because computers should handle the tedious parts. Mobile-native, because the job site is the office. Simple interface, because complexity doesn't equal sophistication.

We beta tested with 100 contractors across eight trades, rebuilt features five, six, seven times until they felt right. The result is Krue—technology that respects expertise rather than replacing it.

The Mission

Contractors deserve tools as sophisticated as the work they do. You shouldn't have to choose between being excellent at your trade and being excellent at administration. You shouldn't lose work because documentation takes too long. You shouldn't look less professional than you actually are because software is clunky.

Krue exists to close that gap.

What We Believe

Respect Expertise

Contractors are sophisticated business owners running complex operations. Our job is to amplify their expertise, not dumb anything down.

Technology Should Adapt

Users shouldn't have to learn unnatural workflows. Software should match how humans actually think and work.

Transparent Everything

Pricing, data handling, business practices—we operate in the open. No fine print. No surprises.

Built for the Long Term

We're building a company, not flipping a product. That means sustainable pricing, continuous improvement, and serving customers, not investors.
